FREE Art Courses for carers in Cornwall


If you live in Cornwall and care for someone for over 20 hours/week we can offer you a completely free place on an art course this Autumn.

Generously funded by Cornwall Council via CRCC we have some great 1 day courses

Getting Started with Oil Painting   1st Sept or 13 Oct  10 – 4

This is an opportunity to be introduced to painting with oils including tips on laying out a palette, mixing colour and techniques on keeping it simple. Working from a vibrant still life.

Lanyon’s Landscapes – mixed media painting & collage  28 th Sept 10-4 

Be inspired by the St Ives artist Peter Lanyon and his approach to landscape. Experiment with collage and acrylic paint to create your own personal abstract painting.

Expressive Watercolour   29th Sept 10-4

Develop a free and fresh approach to painting with watercolours, a dynamic and flexible medium. In this taster workshop, experiment with different scales and bring in mixed media to loosen up your technique.

or choose a longer course and receive funding up to £230 – courses must start by 1st Nov

There are eligibility requirements and only one bursary is available per individual but you may choose any of our workshops or 1,2 or 3 day courses and the full fee will be covered or you can use the bursary to go towards  a longer course.

You must be resident full time in Cornwall, over 18 and providing a regular and substantial amount of care (20 hours or more), without payment, to another person due to their age, physical or mental illness, physical or learning disability or addiction.
